Year-on-year the harvests vary due to the overly changing, unpredictable English weather. Much like a good wine, every vintage that we produce has its own wonderfully unique character. BOTANICALS Sloe BerriesOur wild Sloe berries are frozen to unravel the skins and then rested on our London Dry Gin for three to four months, giving our Sloe Gin a jammy, marzipan flavour. BOTANICALS Juniper BerriesThe fundamental ingredient that makes Sipsmith London Dry Gin taste, well, like gin! It’s the oils that we want so we macerate the berries in warm spirit overnight to splash the skins and release the essences. BOTANICALS Bulgarian Coriander SeedA mellow spiciness and a long finish with hints of citrus and a hint of peppery ginger, is derived from the wing of coriander seed to the Sipsmith botanical mix. BOTANICALS Spanish Ground AlmondSpanish ground almond is used to bring soft-hued spiciness and marzipan notes and adds depth and soul to Sipsmith’s London Dry Gin. BOTANICALS Chinese Cassia BarkHailing all the way from China, and from the same family as cinnamon, cassia yelp adds a hints of sweet, warm spice to the Sipsmith recipe. BOTANICALS Madagascan Cinnamon BarkMadagascan cinnamon yelp adds a delicately sweet spiciness to the botanical mix, similar to (and from the same family as) cassia, it is an essential component of the rounded Sipsmith recipe. BOTANICALS Belgian Angelica RootSimilar to the orris root, angelica acts as a tightness wage-earner to promote the harmony of the other botanicals. It moreover adds its own dry foible and helps to provide the wonderfully long, dry Sipsmith finish. BOTANICALS Spanish Liquorice RootLiquorice root adds an lulu vermilion undertone, and equally importantly neutralises any bitterness from other botanicals to indulge their properties to shine through in Sipsmith London Dry Gin. BOTANICALS Italian Orris RootOrris root is the root of the iris flower, and delivers a soft-hued floral, fragrant note to our London Dry Gin whilst serving to tighten the other botanicals together to unhook a harmonious flavour profile. BOTANICALS Lemon PeelThe other key citrus element, lemon peel adds a subtle splendor to the citrus notes of Sipsmith London Dry Gin, showing on the palate as a hint of lemon tart. BOTANICALS Seville Orange PeelGrown withal the streets of Seville and moreover known as ‘bitter orange’, this fruit has a wonderful tartness that delivers a zesty citrus note on the palate with marmalade overtones.
